ABOUT

Technoverde (which means ‘Green Technology‘) officially started on June of 2007 to feature viable and sustainable technology innovations that optimize the use of natural resources while minimizing, even eliminating, environmental and ecological impact.

This blog aims

  1. to give information on new and not so old technology that operate using renewable resources and
  2. inspire the public to urgently pursue sustainable development.

Sustainability is all about satisfying the accelerating global demand for energy and resources without sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet their own need.

Technoverde focuses on topics such as renewable energy, clean technology, alternative fuel/energy, hybrid vehicles, green buildings, etc. including world policies and issues relevant to the topics.

THE URGENCY TO GO GREEN

The need to seek the path to sustainability has become urgent. Because of decades of neglectful development and global dependency on fossil fuel, our civilization could be facing a global disaster both economically and environmentally.

Energy Crisis

World insatiable demand for fossil fuel may overtake supply by 2020. A phenomenon known as Peak Oil predicts that future world oil production will soon reach its absolute peak by 2015 and then rapidly decline.

As a result, this depletion will sharply skyrocket oil prices to a point where it is insanely unaffordable. If undealt with, we’ll be facing a society we can no longer afford to live in. We’re looking at food shortages, massive blackouts, transportation industry collapsing and basic products such as food, medicine and clothing will suddenly be out of reach.

Environmental (Climate) Crisis

Because of the ever-increasing dependence on fossil fuel, 70 million tons of man-made CO2 (carbon dioxide) are released into the atmosphere every single day. This traps a lot of the sun’s heat causing unnatural changes on the earth’s climate during the last decade.

Our planet is heating up causing stronger storms (category 5+ hurricanes), severe droughts, and faster ice melting in Antartica. As the polar caps melt we all could be in serious danger when sea levels rise up to 20 feet causing massive flooding and displacing millions of people worldwide. We will be living in a hostile environment we wouldn’t want to live in.

It’s a planetary emergency. We may have only 10 years before we cross the point of no return unless we take massive action to dramatically reduce the levels of global warming pollution that we are putting up into the atmosphere.

BE PART OF THE SOLUTION

Stop being part of the problem. There’s a lot of hope if we all get our act together and operate our lives within sustainable measures. Even as the needs of our global population increase, technology that can satisfy those needs without us trashing and exhausting the planet is available. More available than we realize.

We all desire to provide a better life for our children but if all our pursuit to enhance life leaves them with a planet that’s uninhabitable, we have failed miserably. We ought to pass on to future generations a better and healthier planet to thrive in.
